Yesterday was simple day of drawing. It was a day of catching up with who I am and what I know. The artist Roy Lichtenstein is in the news, as a retrospective of his work opens May 16 at the Art Institute of Chicago. Looking at reproductions of Lichtenstein's elegantly simple compositions reminds me that I need not be complex. This is exactly the "great acceptance" I am currently undergoing. Acceptance is a process, and does not occur instantly. It requires practice. Yesterday's four drawings are me practicing acceptance.
After my drawings I show two of Roy Lichtenstein's paintings.
