"Pond" feels very important. It is clearly calling for summation through major changes. Witness today. The pond itself, with its fish, has reorganized for the better. The big fish is gone and an atmospherically dominated fish of smaller scale has taken its place. The surface now appears liquid and light bounces around within the pond and on its bottom. What surprises me most by this outcome is "Pond" is now calling for a major alteration of the earth on which the figures sit. The next step is clear in activity but unclear in solution. Stay tuned.
I began the day with three drawings. It has been a long time since three drawings were made in one day. And they are substantial. In my last post I wrote of "surprises," but today may be more surprising. Figures in the drawings have four very different noses. What was I thinking? This is the mystery of making art. Questions occur and are solved while in process. I continue to explore approach and invention of form. These drawings are examples of both. I show the drawings in the order in which they were made.
