Similar to my last two paintings, this one, 2017 No.12, is growing during process. It is physically larger than its last state. I seem to relish borders. Borders gives the appearance of looking through a window. Perhaps the strangeness of my current forms are asking me to step back a bit, look from a position that is not within their landscape. This is a question, not a statement. Does the frame about a landscape by Claude Monet make the viewer feel as if they were looking from afar? If yes, then the viewer is forced to be more an observer than a participant in Monet's world. Perhaps this is my aim as well.
Yesterday's drawing is strangely figurative. It is a challenge to me, not a solution.
